The heavily-armed giant wicker figures of Gog and Magog, ancient guardians of the Square Mile and regulars at the Show since the early 1400s, are paraded by members of the Guild of Young Freemen, founded in 1976 to encourage the wider participation of Young Freemen in the affairs and traditions of the City.

Dressed in their red ceremonial robes, the Young Freemen pull the giants alongside members of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers, in their blue robes, who took over 1,000 man hours to build these beautiful modern versions which stand 14 feet high.
