131 Commando Squadron is a specialist sub-unit of the Army Reserve, and is the Reserve squadron of 24 Commando Engineer Regiment. The Regiment's role to provide engineer support for 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines across the spectrum of conflict. Commando Engineers are trained in amphibious warfare, as well as how to operate in jungle, desert, mountains and cold weather environments.
The 131 Commando Squadron motto 'Ubique' means 'everywhere', and it is one of the most widely travelled of all Army Reserve units. To join the squadron soldiers must pass the gruelling Commando Course and earn their Green beret, before going on to become Royal Engineers in roles varying from diver to demolition expert.
