Mizuho
2019 Procession Mizuho
Mizuho is one of the largest financial institutions in the world offering a broad range of financial services. Headquartered in Tokyo and with over 146 years of history we are a stable partner to our clients.
We support a client base of major international corporations, financial sponsors, public sector entities and fortune 500 companies through deep knowledge of local markets, comprehensive financing, advisory, capital markets products and the strength of an international network that includes 60,000 employees working in 40 countries across the Americas, EMEA, Asia, and Japan.
Mizuho’s European presence dates back to 1952 and has continued to grow ever since and now we have a network of 20 offices spread throughout the EMEA region.
Our London office provides expertise in corporate finance, investment banking, asset management, capital markets, and sales and trading, to help businesses develop and find new opportunities for growth. From a social responsibility perspective, we are proud to partner with YoungMinds to lead the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered.
YoungMinds is a leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health. As our charity partner in the UK, the funds we raise are divided between two phenomenal projects:
- 360° Schools: Providing support to those working in education. This is via training, advice and information resources, giving them the knowledge to make a difference; and
- Parents Helpline: YoungMinds’ free and confidential Parents Helpline is available to parents and carers worried about a child/young person’s (25 years and under) behaviour and emotional wellbeing allowing them to support their child better. The helpline is 0808 802 5544.
This is the first time that Mizuho has participated in the Lord Mayor’s Show in 10 years. Our procession in this year’s show consists of 50 individuals made up of staff from the Mizuho office in the City, representatives from YoungMinds and drummers from Taiko Meantime. Taiko drumming uses traditional Japanese rhythms and techniques with eclectic, original compositions, enticing their audience to follow them on a musical journey.
We are very much looking forward to participating on the day and demonstrating our commitment to the City of London.
