3 Military Intelligence Battalion

3 Military Intelligence Battalion (3MI) is an Army Reserve unit based in London and Cambridge commanded by the newly formed 1 Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Brigade. 3MI Battalion is the longest-established Reserve unit in the Intelligence Corps, and last year the Intelligence Corps celebrated its 75th anniversary after being formally constituted by King George VI on 15th July 1940.

As a reserve battalion, we are made up of personnel from a wide variety of disciplines; there is a significant intellectual and trade crossover with security and risk analysis, but we also have actors, journalists and barristers among our number. 3MI has affiliations with the Worshipful Company of Painters-Stainers and the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals.
